A healthcare consulting firm, MediThink Inc. Kinmusuhi is named after the three main gods in Japan’s oldest historical record to express the mentality of “monozukuri (craftmanship)” that has been handed down for generations in Japanese manufacturing industry.

The first product is “Premium Chocolate Reduced CoQ10 Tablet” made by Shunsuke Saegusa, a chocolatier of Chocolatier Palet D’Or. It will be sold at Japan Duty Free GINZA (8th floor in Ginza Mitsukoshi). It is a chocolate bar version of “Chocolate GH Premium too tasty for the body,” which has been popular as a gift in Chocolatier Palet D’Or, and as it has a long shelf life, it is perfect for overseas visitors who are looking for a gift for friends or family.

The package was designed by a creative director Manabu Sakamoto, who made a logo for PlayStation at Sony.

Japanese travelers can buy this luxury gift too, by showing an overseas plane ticket

More than 750,000 people visited Japan from China in January 2019 (preliminary figures by JNTO).  Many of them shop in Japan, seeking for the quality of “Made in Japan”. At the same time, as the President Xi Jinping announced the government’s new agenda “Healthy China,” Chinese people are more interested in health maintenance.

Meanwhile, they started a trial sale of reduced CoQ10 supplement at Japan Duty Free GINZA from September 2017, and people became interested in the supplement more than expected. Therefore, they decided to make luxury products that contain the supplement as an ingredient. And as their first product, they asked the chocolatier Shunsuke Saegusa to make a chocolate bar that has a longer shelf life so that overseas visitors can keep it for days. When a chocolate contains more than 70% of cacao, it is considered to have a health effect. Saegusa used 75% of cacao from San Juan Estate, Gran Couva Trinidad in Trinidad and Tobago. According to Saegusa, their cacao is the best in the world. A story about his passion towards this cacao was introduced in a Japanese TV show the Professional on NHK.

Japanese people can also buy the product if they have an overseas plane ticket. It is worth visiting the store and buying before a trip abroad.

*Reduced CoQ10 is an ingredient frequently used in functional food. It has efficacies against temporary fatigue caused by daily life.
